Acorn Earrings -the story of their birth

So I was at my favorite store, Goodwill, last week and I saw this most excellent necklace. Unfortunately, a couple of stones were missing. I was undaunted and bought my newly prized item. The first thing I did was break apart the components. There was a total of five. Three looked great so I remade them into a bracelet that is now on sale at Etsy.

The other two were the ones with missing stones. After shuffing through a few different stones and talking with my DTeam on Etsy, I decided to go with a couple of faceted glass beads.  They were a bit translucent and needed a punch up.  I glued them into place and waited for them to dry. Then flipping over to the back, which was open, I painted a dark grey blue over the crystal. Once that was dry, I used Diamond Glaze over the paint to seal it all in.

By now, most if it looked good. The only part of the pieces that didn't fit well was the area where once there was a connector. So, I used 20 guage wire and wrapped that area to build it up to the same thickness as the rest.

This is the final piece.
These will be on sale on Etsy real soon!

Affordable Halloween Assymetrical Earring and Pendants

Recently I added to Etsy and Artfire my Halloween earrings and pendants. Each is sold separately so you can mix and match to your liking for an assymetrical earring set. Or you can get one to wear with earring you have already. Also, you can wear any of these as a pendant on your own chain.

When you order, just convo me. Tell me whether you want to have the dangle made into an earring or bailed for a necklace. This will be done at no additional fee.  These are priced to move so come check them out!

Recent Dallyings

Wooden Necklace with Pearl Accents

And matching earrings.

I love this one. Might just have to keep it!
Jasper, dyed quartz, and pearls with antiqued brass.

This one is really pretty on. Antique brass scarab with real turquoise and dyed quartz.

Rocking heavy metal on this one. It was lots of fun to make.
I've got a silver one just about done, too.

Now should this be named "The Eyes Have It", "I Have My Eye on You", or "Eye'm Scared"?

Dyed quartz, black glass and brown crackle glass with antiqued brass.

A side of cranberries, anyone?

Dyed calcite (?) and dyed quartz.

Real turquoise and copper.

Rockabilly Red,...........with Polka Dots!

I saw these beads and I just had to get them. You know the deal. The addiction of the beading. It just grabs you and even though you have 10 million beads already you NEED these beads.

So, here they are:
Necklace is made from beads reminiscent of bakelite. The white beads are Czech in the front and size down to plastic and glass beads. Adjustable length but basically a choker.

Dangle earrings to match the above necklace on silver chain. Surgical steel ear posts.

These were alot of fun working with the wire to create a dangle and wrap in one.

I thought this kind of outfit and neckline would really work well with these pieces.
This great pictures is  deannadeadly* and found on deviantart.com.
*Mature pictures on profile, please check your filters if you are easily offended.

All of these will be available today on Etsy.  As I'm writing this it's 12:16am Tuesday. It's late and I have to get ready for my daughter's swim lesson tomorrow morning. Watch for my twitter announcing their availability. And tell a friend.

Full product line as of first half of 2010

Ever held onto a bead knowing one day you'll find a way to show it off? This is one of those beads for me. I love Unakite. Well, let's face it, I love anything that's olive green -or looks good with it.

I mixed this one up with Picture Jasper, Serpentine, and black glass. There's a certain "Wow" factor when worn.

Got a store showing my items. Yeah!

This has been a busy couple of days. I need to go to Office Max and get some paper supplies to finish up so I can deliver my first set of jewelry to Salon Bella in Cary. The owner, Brandy, the owner has given space to other artists in the area and has graciously set aside some for me. I'm so excited. Here are some pieces I have available.

I should also mention that Brandy and her staff are exceptional at what they do. I highly recommend Salon Bella for all of your hair needs.
