This past month has brought me joy (my first craft show of the year) and sorrow (my faithful car was totaled). And in the middle of it I've been crocheting like crazy to keep up with the demand of the amigurumi plushie keychains and having a ball.
So many people have stopped by looking and asking. There's always a new way of looking at amigurumi. I've has requests for different animals. And requests for cat toys. And requests for larger plushie toys. I promise, as time allows I'm investigating how to expand and add new lines.
In the meantime I wanted to share with you my weekend. It was a Doctor Who weekend. You know how I love The Doctor. These are the things I have gleaned from the marathon.
1. Be at the opening ceremony torch lighting at the 2012 Olympics. The Doctor will be a torch carrier.
2. Cybermen can have fun.
3. Rogue Klingons can find jobs working for Daleks.
4. A verbal smackdown between the Daleks and Cybermen can be funny!
5. Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) can't sing. Why do I say that? Because I want to! lol!
I hope you've enjoyed these as much as I have!

Searching for Peace
No matter your bloodline, education, or status, peace is something we all should strive for. Take a few moments today to decide what you can do to bring peace to others.
Here's some haunting Pink Floyd music to help you through.

Girls vs. Boys
My six year old daughter. Her life is in such turmoil! lol! Not trying to belittle her woes but it's so refreshing to have problems you can see resolutions for. It's not I want to fix things for her but to enlighten her to the possibilities.
First off, Danica Patrick came to mind. Then Orianthi, she's awesome to watch. And so is Jennifer Batten. But the female mechanic/technician. Hmmm, that's a hard one. Paige Hemmis? She's on Extreme Makeover but does she weld? No, but Jessi Combs does!
See, little M is a tomboy. Serious tomboy. She plays with nerf swords, loves power rangers, and enjoys being the heroine as opposed to the damsel in distress and digs playing basketball, softball and soccer. Shoot for Christmas, she's getting a go-kart to run around the track that her daddy recently made for her.
So, now she's in 1st grade and the kids are just now realizing the difference between boys and girls. She wants to hang with the boys but they are telling her no because she's a girl. She came home recently wishing she could be a boy. I asked why and she said because they play guitar better and they can make things like Daddy does.
Whoa, what?
As you can guess, it's now my personal mission to make my daughter understand the value she had being female. I'm trying to think of women of worth, mentors for her to see to understand what her capabilites are.

Rowan Atkinson is Doctor Who
Too funny! If you have the time, it's 20 minutes long, it's worth the watch! I'll explain later!

Friday Follies
After pouring over books this week and all the set up I decided tonight to watch an old fave of mine. Doctor Who. Anybody who knows me knows I'm a die hard fan of the series since Tom Baker. Tonight's episode was "Doctor Who: The Next Doctor". Okay, so I'm a little behind. I'm cheap and wait until I can see them on demand from Netflix.
Well I must say it was a hoot! One thing that stands out above all others from the episode is the interweaving of steampunk. Seems to me that steampunk is always associated with fashion and interior design. Not so much with movies. So when I see one, I jump on it. Thought it was so cool I wanted to share. When was the last time you saw a gear driven juggernaut?
