Bracelets OMG!

I have forgotten how fun and easy it is to make a bracelet or six.
Here's what I've come up with so far.

Faceted agate with red dyed quartz. This picture doesn't do it justice.

Found the great neckace with missing stones. Repurposed it in to this fabulous bracelet.

Lightweight and fun. This plastic necklace is ready for fall!

The colors of this reminds me of indian corn. Or maybe I just have fall on the brain. Is made of moukaite and red dyed quartz.

Lightweight plastic faceted beads in a great alternating pattern.

Imitation red coral. Who said that coral was just for summer? This one is ready to rock Halloween.

Tulip Fashion Graffiti

I just got in my prize from http://ilovetocreateblog.blogspot.com/. And I'm soooo excited!
My daughter and I are just thinking of all kinds of things we can do with this. Maybe we'll throw a dress up your t-shirt party, or Christmas gifts. Who knows really, but it'll be fun!!

Rowan Atkinson is Doctor Who

Too funny! If you have the time, it's 20 minutes long, it's worth the watch! I'll explain later!

To Kill A Mockingbird's Necklace is FINISHED!

I couldn't find THe bead so I made it. What do you think?
My little "soap" doll. Made her out of polyclay and once hardened, I used an exactly blade to refine details and give a whittling appearance.

I had to dig something out to show how she lays with the other pieces.

So here it is.

This is the story of the necklace and the book:
Scout starts out as an innocent. She's all white and pure. Her life runs parallel with her community (the 2nd strand) a mix of dark and light. After she experiences life-changing events, she changes. still the same person, (same bead design) but little parts of her changed (going from white to black).
The changes I show are the camillia (actually given to Jem), the fire, Boo's gift of the soap doll, and the testaments of faith and God.

Did you catch all of that?

Recent Dallyings

Wooden Necklace with Pearl Accents

And matching earrings.

I love this one. Might just have to keep it!
Jasper, dyed quartz, and pearls with antiqued brass.

This one is really pretty on. Antique brass scarab with real turquoise and dyed quartz.

Rocking heavy metal on this one. It was lots of fun to make.
I've got a silver one just about done, too.

Now should this be named "The Eyes Have It", "I Have My Eye on You", or "Eye'm Scared"?

Dyed quartz, black glass and brown crackle glass with antiqued brass.

A side of cranberries, anyone?

Dyed calcite (?) and dyed quartz.

Real turquoise and copper.

A Redirection of Priorities

Okay, so like the last time I was here I was pretty damn frustrated. But since then, thanks to the kind words from my friends, I am redirecting myself -again!

There are three craft shows still open for the Christmas season. The big one is The Christmas Carousel in Raleigh. A 3-day event that will wear me to the bone but hubby says go for it. And so, the planning begins.

I've got to get pictures done of a display. What? A display?!? Oh no! Oh my! I've got to get a table, and the table cover and skirts, and the hardest thing is I want a shelf along the backside of the table. I've got a mirror, and necklace displays out the wazoo.

12 days and counting until the cutoff to sign up. Can I do it? Yes, I can! (uh, I think so) (just HAD to throw in a little Bob humor in there.) lol!

It's going to be crazy! I hope,....I will,.... alot of things. But the only thing I can worry about right now is getting that display picture done and that I don't run out of pieces. Can't leave early, you won't be invited back and if I run out what will I do then? So, lesee, I've got about 140 pieces now. I'm going to shoot for 200.

If you have done this before, please comment what you felt sold the most: necklaces, bracelets, earrings, other. I'd really appreciate it.

***WARNING*** THIS POST CONTAINS VENTING***

Sigh,
I've been on Etsy since February and guess how many sales I have under my belt? None, zero, zip, nada. The one that shows is my husband making sure we have Paypal setup right.

Sigh,
I've been working on revamping the store again. I hate this part. Give me some beads to play with and I'm happy. Give me a dead store and vague critiques and I'm frustrated.

Sigh,
Others say don't float your items on white. Others say the color backgrounds are distracting. They say to show off your pieces in you banner. Then it's too fuzzy and soft because you also have to make it readable.

Sigh,
I've deactivated all of my items and am going one by one tweaking descriptions, materials, tags, pics. I've got 24 back up. There is so much more to do. AND ALL I WANT TO DO IS MAKE SOME HALLOWEEN ITEMS AND TRY TO GET AHEAD OF THE CURVE!

Okay, I feel better. Thanks!

Blue Batik Flowers Crochet Necklace

I had so much fun with the first batik necklace I made another. This one had more jewel-tones.

I really should sit down and write a tutorial on this. I'll put that on my list of things to do once my daughter returns to school and I can have a thought process longer than 3 minutes.

You can find this on Artfire, the link is to the left.  Tell others if you like. I'd appreciate it.

Rockabilly Red,...........with Polka Dots!

I saw these beads and I just had to get them. You know the deal. The addiction of the beading. It just grabs you and even though you have 10 million beads already you NEED these beads.

So, here they are:
Necklace is made from beads reminiscent of bakelite. The white beads are Czech in the front and size down to plastic and glass beads. Adjustable length but basically a choker.

Dangle earrings to match the above necklace on silver chain. Surgical steel ear posts.

These were alot of fun working with the wire to create a dangle and wrap in one.

I thought this kind of outfit and neckline would really work well with these pieces.
This great pictures is  deannadeadly* and found on deviantart.com.
*Mature pictures on profile, please check your filters if you are easily offended.

All of these will be available today on Etsy.  As I'm writing this it's 12:16am Tuesday. It's late and I have to get ready for my daughter's swim lesson tomorrow morning. Watch for my twitter announcing their availability. And tell a friend.
