To Kill A Mockingbird
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this book the local library is showing art pieces representing the book. I know, I know, it's not a gallery but I am getting my talent seen, right? So, I've been ciphering on symbols of the book and what makes it gothic. Trying to show the loss of innocence and the darkness that the human animal embodies. It's a lot to take in. But, I'm starting today working on a design. Don't know how far I'll get before I break it all apart and start over. lol

Trying to catch up
Between my daughter and the cats and chickens, I have ground down to almost a complete stop. My daughter has been out of school for 2 weeks and 2 days and she wears me out! Also, we've had an issue with one of my favorite chickens. She's lethargic. No injury I can see but I keep an eye on her more regularly now. Bought some powdered electrolytes and vitamins to place in their water. Guess chickens need their gatorade too. And the cats have been bringing all sorts of trophies in the house. Thanks, girls!
But progress has been made today! Yeah! I have a huge chunk of brooches photographed and more items posted on Etsy. I will get through this!
Please check out my jewelry photos. The link is to the right of this page. If there are any questions, drop me a line. I'll be more than happy to help in any way. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Chickens and Sunflowers
When I'm not creating, I'm taking care of our chickens. We have 3 Americaunas, 1 Red Sex-Link, and 5 Buff Orpingtons. They are so funny during daylight but getting a picture of them is almost impossible. So, here they are roosting on top of their coop.
Also, my daughter has sunflowers growing in our garden. Right now, they are about the only things surviving the deer.
Aren't they a sight? Some are well over 8 feet tall.
Well, it's 9:30 and the beading bug is biting.

Crochet Brooches
Recently I was at a friend's house and she had these straw made shapes that she didn't know how to use. Instantly, I thought they looked like leaves so I had to get some myself.
Once I started, I couldn't stop. Now I'm at the point of having too many flowers with no leaves so I'm playing with different ideas of how to make leaves. I just finished these last night. The "official" pics will come later. I just HAD to show you.

Ever held onto a bead knowing one day you'll find a way to show it off? This is one of those beads for me. I love Unakite. Well, let's face it, I love anything that's olive green -or looks good with it.
I mixed this one up with Picture Jasper, Serpentine, and black glass. There's a certain "Wow" factor when worn.

Hemp and other tie-worthy cords
I've been using a lot of old knowledge this past week. Macrame, or as it's being called now, hemp jewelry. Ha! I've been having fun with it too. Just wish these old hands could use the 4-8mm cord I used back in the day.
Does turquoise every go out of style? Nah! Here it is paired with royal blue.
Red is good anytime. This time with yellow agate and fire polished Czech beads.
Crystal chips, frosted fire polished Czech beads and glass bead accents.
Can anyone say, "hand cramp!?"
I love these flower beads. And they look so good with the antique brass.
I love amethyst.
